The guitar’s though simple, did play a little catchy phrase which is still stuck in my head now. The little interrupted beat felt fresh and different to your average pop rock song. The musicality of this piece, like I previously touched upon, is fairly decent. I do however respect the group for writing and recording this track in the space of a week, that takes balls. The whole song sounded a little stale and a little ploddy the mixing created this grey atmosphere. The vocals are okay but you would of had to of done something catastrophic to screw his delivery up anyway. The bass swamped the mix making the guitars lose drive and the drums lose impact.

Production wise the track is very weak for a professional band. All the lyrics are about things we’ve heard a thousands times before and the whole ‘Demagogue’ hook became irritating quite fast. Whereas the prior mentioned tracks felt unique and well thought out, this track just feels a little rushed and a little pandering if I’m honest. However, the track is very repetitive and it lacks a lot of substance. I really liked the progression, I thought the odd time signature was great fun to listen to and I thought the vocal performance was very stylistic. This song is okay, it’s not great, but it’s okay. I'm incredibly proud that Alex reached out to me to collaborate on an image for possibly the bands' first overtly political song "Demagogue." I listened to the song and considered my thoughts about Trump as a sociopath and a destructive force in politics and society.
That moment has arrived, and it coincides with a mutual desire to block a certain demagogue from ever arriving at the White House. a few years ago and mentioned I'd be excited to collaborate if the opportunity should arise. Franz Ferdinand is a band of style and substance. The lyrics of singer Alex Kapranos are witty, charming, and often insightful about human nature. The band is undeniably stylish in their fashion and their album artwork which is frequently inspired by Russian Constructivism, one of my biggest inspirations as well. Stylistically, Franz mixes a pinch of glam rock, a nice serving of post-punk and a bit of dance-punk to create a sound that is irresistibly infectious. I've been a big fan of the band Franz Ferdinand since they first hit the scene in 2003.
